Ikaro uses the 31 points deriving from the reflectance curve, ranging from 400 to 700 nm, to identify and store the color to be formulated.

The instrument features a diffuse d/8° sphere geometry for reflectance measurements and is suitable for detecting color on tinted samples for formulation and color correction tests.
